In-depth Review: CustomStickers vs. StickerMule vs. StickerApp

Navigating the crowded field of sticker companies can be a bit of a puzzle. Back in 2022, I took a deep dive into three major brands in the business:

Initially, my review offered first impressions and initial evaluations. Fast forward a year later, with more orders and a better understanding of each, I’ve returned with a comprehensive update.

Order Process

When it comes to the Ordering Process, convenience is king. Everyone wants to smoothly transition from selecting a product to clicking the ‘buy’ button. Fortunately, all three companies recognize this. Each has implemented an intuitive online ordering system where size and quantity adjustments are a breeze.

However, where they begin to diverge is in the proofing process. Sticker App takes the lead with an immediate proof of your design, while both Sticker Mule and Custom Stickers tend to keep you in a short suspense, sending a proof within a day of your order.

Sticker Quality

Moving on to Quality, this is an area where no compromises should be made. And the finish of a sticker is often the first indicator. CustomStickers.com broadens your options, allowing you to pick between a glossy or matte finish. Sticker Mule, perhaps in a bid for consistency, sticks (pun intended) with just a matte finish. StickerApp, on the other hand, leans towards the shiny side with its default gloss but offers a matte alternative for those who seek it.

But what about longevity? After all, what’s a beautiful sticker if it doesn’t last?

I put each to the test, subjecting them to the rigors of my dishwasher. CustomStickers and StickerMule emerged unscathed, maintaining their color and adhesion. StickerApp’s offerings, however, showed some wear and tear. Despite this, it’s worth noting that StickerApp might edge out in terms of print resolution, offering a marginally crisper image.

Pricing

Penny-pinchers and big-spenders alike, the Pricing section is for you. If we’re talking numbers, Sticker App sets you back $66 for 100 3’x3′ stickers. Sticker Mule, a tad pricier, asks for $90. But the crown for affordability goes to CustomStickers with a tempting $40 tag.

And for those of us who might be commitment-phobic with our sticker choices, minimum order limits matter. CustomStickers understands this, allowing the flexibility of orders as small as a singular sticker. Sticker Mule sets their bar at ten, and Sticker App, perhaps a tad ambitious, requires you to get at least 22. On the brighter side, for those ordering in bulk, Sticker Mule does have discounts for multiple designs, a gesture not matched by Sticker App.

Turnaround Time

Shipping is next on our checklist. In today’s world of instant gratification, waiting can be painful. But there’s some solace in knowing that all three contenders offer free shipping within the U.S. My recent experience showed Sticker App taking the scenic route with a 14-day delivery post-order. Sticker Mule, a bit more brisk, had my package at my doorstep 6 days post-approval, while CustomStickers fell right in between, clocking in at 8 days.

Customer Service

Finally, let’s chat about Customer Service. Sticker Mule, always active on Twitter, frequently announces deals and promotions, making it worthwhile to give them a follow. CustomStickers lets you taste their quality, offering samples for just the price of shipping. In contrast, offers and discounts from Sticker App were a tad sparse during my shopping experience. When it comes to addressing concerns, Sticker Mule relies on good old email, while CustomStickers ups the game with both email and phone support.

In conclusion, weighing all aspects, CustomStickers.com seems to be the top dog. They match StickerMule in quality but offer better pricing, making them the ideal choice for both casual and bulk buyers. However, watch StickerMule sales, occasionally they will have a great deal. StickerApp, while not without its merits, might be best suited for those prioritizing print clarity over durability.
